This WAS an unjust ruling. No matter where you stand on the side of gay marriage, this case was different. This was already a right they had and it was voted on to take away from them. Since when do we vote to take people's rights away? This decision has me fired up completely. This is such a travesty. My neighbor has no right to tell anyone how they should live their lives, who they should love and who they should marry. As long as no one is hurting anyone this should be a non issue! Honestly whose business is it if two consenting adults want to get married.

I've heard the arguements over and over again against gay marriage...
It's in the bible? Well news flash marriage is not a religious ceremony, it's a LEGAL ceremony. Yes you can get married in a church, but only after you go through the legal process first of getting a license etc. When you get divorced you don't go to the church to get divorced you go to the courts. Also if marriage is strictly a religious thing then how come Atheists and Agnostics can get married? Should we not allow them to get married now since they too are "against god?"

Marriage should be for procreation: Well then we shouldn't allow infertile or elderly couples or couples that don't want kids to get married. Also with modern medicine being so awesome gays CAN and Do raise children, with surrogates and invitro as well as adoption. So gay couples CAN produce children in one way or another.

Well, that's the way it's always been! I hate this arguement because a lot of things used to be the way things always been til they changed. We used to treat women as property...but that changed. We used to not let interracial marriage and that changed. We used to burn people accused of being witches and we don't do that anymore. A lot of things used to be tradition, but times change and so do we.

It can lead to people marrying goats and children and more than one person: First off goats and children really? Even just play devils advocate here and say this would even come up and isn't a ridiculous notion. Animals and Children can not legally enter into contracts, and marriage is essentially a legal contract. Therefore this point is moot. As for Marrying more than one person, this is already against the law and thus a moot point. This is easily remedied by just putting in language stating TWO consenting Adults can enter into Marriage.

I have very strong views, as you can tell, about this subject and can't wait til the next generation is in power. You look at the 30 and under crowd and overwhelmingly they are pro gay rights and gay marriage, it's pretty much a non issue the younger and younger you go. I know it's only a matter of time, but I wish that time was now and we could just move on from hating what we don't understand or think is "icky" and just realize that we are all human beings that just want happiness and a family.

What TWO consenting ADULTs do is their own business, get out of my friends and neighbors bedroom. If you don't want gay marriage, then don't marry anyone whose gay!

Watching the Parade coverage on the Today Show and the Early Show and man do I miss NYC. I see the background and am like "oooh i know that, i've been there 100s of times" etc...I wish I was there!!

Today I'm going to my Uncle's house for Thanksgiving and spend it with him, my mom, the baby and my Aunt and her family. I love her family so it should be fun, though my mom doesn't like her family all that much so that might be awkward...

can't wait to see the parades right now! Drowsy will be on CBS and a Chorus Line and a bunch of others on NBC...*bounces*

WOOHOO Change happened and thank god...House is Dem and it's looking like Dems will take the senate too with Webb being ahead...not to mention Rumsfeld stepping down...I think this country might be on it's way back to being something wonderful and great. I love being an American and Voting and glad that America came to their senses and voted for change!

Ok guys, especially those in the NY area...

I'm going to be up there for the week of September 16th and staying with Suny yay! So umm who will be around then and want to hang out? Especially during the weekdays when Suny's at work and I don't wanna be bored. So any of you guys that are gonna be around, i know there's school that week so many can't do it, but anyone that can and would like to meet up please let me know...

Saturday- Arrive and go see Wedding Singer that night
Sunday- Go see Mat at 4:30 of Oedipus for Kids, if I can get tickets...

first I want to say that my grandmother is fine and thank you all for your thoughts and prayers and everything worked out, she was extremely lucky and it could've been much worse.

Secondly I wanted to pimp my new blog that I will rant about politics and use it for my political activism...so if you want to check it out and pimp it out I would be very grateful...it's in it's early stages, but hopefully it'll grow :)

I'm scared and worried and upset right now...

My mom called me and told me my grandmother was in a car accident, the car like flipped over or something. She's in the hospital right now, apparently she has cuts and bruises and a peice of glass had to be removed from her arm and they had to give her 15 stitches in that arm. They should be letting her go home and I'm trying to tell myself everything will be ok, but I'm so scared and worried and feel just helpless. I don't know what I'd do without my grandma, it was hard enough losing my grandfather, which still doesn't feel real, that I just couldn't take losing my grandma too. I just wish there was something I could do. Please just keep her in your thoughts and hope (or pray if that's your thing) that she'll be ok.

Today, the Senate Judiciary Committee voted 10-8 in support of the amendment, down partisan lines. It will now be sent for dabate to the Senate floor, and Frist plans on bringing it up for a vote in early June.

I'm very disheartened by this, if you want to help please visit http://www.pflag.org and download their postcards to send to your senator or write or call or e-mail your senator, let them know that you don't want to see an amendment that takes away rights from a sect of people. This is a political tactic for election season, don't let the government take away rights just because they are up for re-election, let them know you won't vote for them if they vote to pass this amendment!

and pass this along if you believe that this amendment should not pass!
